A Sneak Peek From the Witcher Season 2 Has Brought Some Exciting News

The second season of the popular Netflix show the Witcher is about to come out, and fans are ready to see the familiar frown of Henry Cavill’s hero – Geralt of Rivia, and a recently acquired partner – Ciri. As more monsters are going to stumble upon a silver sword, the sneak peeks of the 2nd season stirred up some comments about a new story. The fans have observed a fairly known enemy – the Myriapod.

You might wonder, what these creatures are, well, you better prepare yourself, because they are huge and horrible centipedes, which we first met in the anthology Sword of Destiny from Sapkowski. There Geralt and Braenn the dryad after a long journey save Ciri from a myriapod. In the series though, the witcher meets his apprentice in a rather different situation. Profound gamers will remember this foe from the Witcher 3 DLC Blood and Wine, dating back to 2016. In the clip, we can see that the 3D model for the Myriapod is not the best, but it still meets its goals – the thing looks frightening and dangerous, aiming to give Geralt some nasty fight for his contract. Let’s hope that there is only one of it, and not a whole pack, expecting to ambush the witcher.

The given video is just a sneak peek, but it gives us some information. There Geralt casts a “Quen” sign, which purpose is to shield the hero, and the sword had seemed to have an orange shade, which could be some oil or a rune effect. Henry Cavill has previously claimed to be a huge Witcher fan, so he could also bring his point of view to the series. What fights and monsters can we expect to see next? The follow-up season is about to come out on Netflix on December 17.
