Cyberpunk 2077 May Get an Update Soon, SteamDB Hints Image

According to the entry in SteamDB, one of the most prominent games of recent years, Cyberpunk 2077, is to get an update soon. Details of what sort of update it is are yet unknown. Is it just the next bug fix, some new content, or a major change in visuals and performance? Given how many updates Cyberpunk 2077 received after the release, anything is possible.

Though no player has spotted any change in the game itself, its version history on SteamDB was updated recently. According to SteamDB, the new build of Cyberpunk 2077 was published on January 14. Unbeknownst to the users, nevertheless: so far the update is a ghost that shows somewhere not far but cannot be touched and caught.

Still, users remember that the publisher, CDRP, promised a major update back in November. The Polish developer stated that it could be a major update and (or) a large DLC. Given how grand DLCs for its previous hit, The Witcher 3, were, it’s logical to expect something similar for Cyberpunk 2077. The entry in SteamDB, though, says it straight that it’s an update to the core game, not an optional DLC, though they can appear simultaneously.

It can also have something to do with the re-release of the game for next-gen consoles. It’s not obvious at all, given that Steam focuses on desktop versions of games. Still, some visual enhancements developed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X can make it to the PC version as well. As for system requirements, they don’t seem to have changed, so even if the game shines anew, it doesn’t force you to buy a new video card.

What do you expect from the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 change? Have you played its original version before the updates fixed it? If you’re through, would you rather return for a big DLC or for revamped visuals? If you have something to say, welcome to the comments!
