FIFA 22: What You Need to Know
06 Oct 2021
FIFA 22 was officially scheduled for global release on October 1. It was successfully launched, starting on all consoles at the same time. The developers also kept up the FIFA series tradition of releasing either in the last week of September or the first week of the month that follows it. For those who’d preordered FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition, the game has been available since September 27.
The list of devices on which players can enjoy it includes Windows-based ones, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and Xbox One, plus two next-gen consoles — Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Depending on the device that you are purchasing the game for, the price starts at around 60 dollars.
By contrast, the premium Ultimate Edition will cost you around a hundred dollars. You can get it both as a physical copy or by downloading. A serious benefit is that it offers exclusive content such as extra items and packs. The premium version also features unique Volta and FIFA Ultimate Team players. Apart from that, you get 4,600 FIFA points and a Ones to Watch player item (this one is untradeable).
Player ratings were traditionally released before the game itself came out, revealing Lionel Messi to be the most-valued player at 93. Robert Lewandowski has been rated 92, followed by a tight group of five 51 players including Ronaldo and Neymar.
With the HyperMotion gameplay technology, which is only available on next-gen consoles, the movements in FIFA 22 look even more realistic than before. The manager part of the gameplay has been enriched with clubs and sophisticated stories. Other new features include league-specific FUT Heroes cards, female pros, and a skill overhaul for Volta.
