Halo Infinite to Introduce Co-Op Mode, but Later Image

Halo Infinite, the 6th installment in the iconic series, is here for over a year, and it’s just about time to introduce new features. Multiplayer fans have been waiting for co-operation mode, and this mode will arrive. But it’s not clear yet when. As 343 Industries says, the release of co-operative mode is delayed.

Halo Infinite was released in November 2021 as a multiplayer game, and a single-player campaign followed in December. While the campaign version is paid, the multiplayer for Halo Infinite is free-to-play. If on reading “free-to-play” you immediately thought of microtransactions, you’ve got it right. So far, the multiplayer mode only supports team matches, available in 4v4 and 12v12 versions.

As for cooperative mode, it will be available within the campaign version, adding layers to the gameplay. It’s expected to come as a free update, and players had been warned before the release that this mode would be available later. “Later” here means “later than later”: first, co-op mode was scheduled on May 3, but then 343 Industry stated that the mode would not arrive by that date when Season 2 is officially to start. Probably the team can finish the work before the end of Season 2, but it’s not granted either.

Some tie this delay to a recent announcement made by Andrew Witts, the head of the team that has been developing the multiplayer mode. Maybe it is so. No official confirmation or rebuttal has been made. It’s not all that bad for further Halo Infinite development, though; the Forge mode, announced long before too, seems to arrive soon. The developer also addresses the critical issues, which will make the overall experience better.

Have you already played Halo Infinite? Did you like its multiplayer mode? Have you purchased the campaign to enjoy the co-op when it arrives? Tell it to us in the comments if you please!
