Metaverse and Roblox: What is in Common Image

Metaverse is still trying to get its recognition across the platforms, and while not a lot of people understand its goal, we can see a simple example of Internet culture that might help users get a clearer vision of this project.

Roblox is a worldwide known game that has over 52 million users. It is quite a high number, and its primary audience is kids. It is a sandbox project where you can design your realities and avatars, just like what metaverse is advertising at its core. Nevertheless, the success rates of both companies are completely different.

Currently, Roblox is working on extending its reach to the brands with new ad types and exclusive content. Soon, we will be able to see posters and interactive billboards, where anybody can post their campaign, which, of course, won’t be free.

The community is the main engine for Roblox, and trying to reach older audiences is a very smart move from the company. Meta is looking the same with its advances in the VR world. It widely supports VR creators to build worlds and personas inside the virtual realm.

Meta won’t be the only company that owns the metaverse, and getting more brands involved in this project is a current goal for the team. While Roblox is building new interactive avatars and evolved motion capture for character animation, Meta is investing in more VR projects.

However, the prices for VR headsets have recently jumped in price, and not many users see a point in buying one just to enter the metaverse. A lot of brands claim that the metaverse is already here but don’t get so easily bought by them. There is still a lot of work for Meta to present the perfect polished picture that everybody will understand and will want to buy.

Do you think Roblox is like a small metaverse? What does Meta need to do to improve its virtual world? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
