OneDrive is receiving some handy new features for photo editing, Microsoft announced Tuesday. The updates will first be available on the Android app and the web. School and business accounts follow suit later this summer, with the iOS app joining till the end of the year.

The tools will allow you to do light photo editing akin to what Google Photos offers their users. To use them, you need a personal OneDrive account.

Here's What you Get

♦ Formats supported: JPEG and PNG

♦ Resizing: Rotating, Mirroring, Flipping, Cropping, Pre-Set Aspect Ratio Cropping

♦ Adjustment settings: Brightness, Exposure, Lighting, Contrast, Saturation, Shadows, Color Correction (minimal.)

The cloud storage also gets several other perks, including the long-awaited organizing feature. Thanks to a management feature, the pictures uploaded on your OneDrive account will automatically end up in the folders based on the app each file originated from. Meaning, your messenger pics, social media pics, and such won't be mixed. You will also be able to filter your OneCloud pictures using a new tool swiftly.

Finally, Android users (and pretty soon the iOS ones) will be able to stream their OneDrive pictures and videos via Chromecast on their TV.

Not every update will be available right away, however. Microsoft is planning to roll them out during the next year — though, hopefully, the majority will be introduced before 2022.

The company also stresses that their user's security stays the priority and that none of their content is to be scanned for targeted ads or otherwise.
