The recent trailer of Mortal Kombat 1 has captured players' attention by giving a detailed insight into the immortal character Geras. Geras, a robust servant of Kronika, the Keeper of Time and Architect of the Universe’s Destiny, is the highlight of the latest trailer of this much-awaited fighting game.

In the game, Geras is endowed with god-like strength and has the unique capacity to control the sands of time. His ability to revive from fatal injuries due to his status as a “fixed point in time” is a notable character feature. This trait allows him to return more powerful and wiser after each death, with thousands of rebirths to his name.

Along with being a mighty character, Geras is also an observer and scholar of time. His ability to view various timelines and his boundless lifespan has allowed him to amass a wealth of knowledge about the events, cultures, and inhabitants of the realms. He uses this knowledge in his service to Kronika.

The trailer showcases a dialogue between Geras and Lord Liu Kang, wherein Geras accepts that his highest calling is duty. As the guardian of the hourglass, which regulates time and destiny beyond the realms, he takes on a critical role in the game's narrative. The trailer shows Geras monitoring the hourglass and being recognized as the protector of the Earth's realm.

The game is set to be released on September 19, 2023, with an early access period starting on September 14 for those who buy the Premium or Collector’s Edition. A closed beta in August will be available to all pre-order customers. The game will be accessible on various platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
