It’s a strange and mostly an unpleasant feeling to run into someone you know on Tinder. Well, if they don’t run into you, then okay. But what if your ex-boyfriend, your colleague or even your student or teacher likes you, and you only know that if you swipe them right back? And what if not? Confusion any possible way. Luckily, you can save this feeling with a new Tinder feature.

The update that rolled out recently lets you block your phone contacts, guaranteeing you won’t meet each other among random profiles. It does not take a paid account, being available to anyone even with free accounts. The blocking feature does not work with Facebook or Instagram profiles, though, so make sure you did not remove your ex’s number right after parting.

To activate the filter, go to your profile and then tap the Settings icon. Then scroll down until you find “Block Contacts” option – and toggle it on. Welcome: no more old contacts in your new life. All your romantic connections on Tinder will be brand new, letting you discover a brand new you. If this option is not there yet, all you need to do is wait a little: the feature rolls out gradually, and patience is a great thing when it comes to romance. As well as daring to start anew.
