Square Enix at E3 2021: Everything Announced So Far

The Japanese publisher has finally come through with a fresh assortment of announcements, trailers, and gameplays. 

The new stuff was presented at Square Enix's official press conference at E3 2021. We summarized it all for you — to get you as thrilled as we are right now. 

Announcements & Demos

Guardians of the Galaxy

Your chance to walk an intergalactic mile in Star Lord's jet boots arrives on October 26, 2021. The long-awaited third-person Guardians of the Galaxy game is being made official by Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal. The main character will be joined by the entire merry bunch: Gamora, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, and Drax. 

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin

This ambitious offspring of Final Fantasy, as announced at the press conference, is coming in 2022. The Stranger of Paradise trailer introduced the protagonist Jack and his friends Ash and Jed — the prophesied Warriors of the Light en route to kill Chaos itself. An exclusive playable PS5 demo will also be temporarily available starting today. 

Releases 

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster 1-6

The 2D Pixel remaster of the first chapters of Final Fantasy will be available on Mobile, and Steam. Each will be sold separately, and the date is TBA.

Legend of Mana 

A colorful RPG Legend of Mana will be available on Steam, PS4, and Switch starting June 24. A new teaser trailer was released. 

Trailers, gameplays,  montages & dates

The Avengers 2021 

Marvel's golden child boasted a new cinematic trailer with the free War for Wakanda expansion. It will feature the Black Panther as a playable character and several beloved characters. It's expected this August.

Babylon's Fall

Platinum's live-service co-op showed signs of life with a new gameplay trailer. It will be released on an unspecified date for PS4, PS5, and PC. 

Life Is Strange: Remastered & Life Is Strange: True Colors

The three remastered chapters of LiS (minus the Captain Spirit) are coming on September 30 this year. That's twenty days after the release of the True Colors, in which empathy-centered gameplay was demonstrated today. 

Mobile games

Finally, a 20-second montage showcased footage from the remastered Final Fantasy Collection, Hitman Sniper — The Shadows, and Nier Reincarnation.
