Twitch vs. Hot Tubs Streamers: No More Money on Ads, Understand? Image

Take off your Twitch the hot tub splash, or you don’t get no spendin’ cash! That’s the new policy of Twitch that seems to be annoyed with hot tub meta popularity. Do you like to watch girls in bikinis playing games while relaxing in swimsuits? We do. Twitch seems it’s not what the platform is about. As a result, the most popular one, Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is now not able to make money on her account.

She did not notice it immediately. It took Kaitlyn some time to learn that money stopped coming. The reason was simple: Twitch banned advertising on her channel, seemingly forever. She can keep making her hot tub streams, but not getting a cent from them. Not that hottubing is against Twitch’s rules. But it’s the right of the platform to apply the hammer without warning, and this time it was used.

Siragusa did talk back – not on Twitch, of course, but on Twitter. As for Twitch, it didn’t even articulate “you ain’t gonna show’em ads no more”. It did not bother to reply to either Kaitlyn or third-party journalists. That only aggravates that sinking feeling of dictatorship practiced. Not that Kaitlyn will suffer much, as she has diversified her income sources. But other Twitch users will now feel they’re living on a volcano, much hotter than any hot tub.
