Twitter Shopping Experiments Approach the Next Stage Image

Twitter continues to promote the idea of shopping through social media, empowering and optimizing the process. The social media giant intends to create a convenient shopping list that will be linked to commercial profiles. It will allow you to save products of interest right in the app and make purchases directly from tweets.

Сatching Up with Trends

The app already has an eCommerce platform. Earlier this year, the company introduced a 'Purchases' tab in the user profile associated with the SuperFollows option. This function could potentially connect their fans to products and Professional Profiles to allow businesses to display their address, phone numbers, and operating hours on their profile. The section displays purchased subscriptions and digital tickets.

Like the majority of media, Twitter tests any product before rolling out its final version. According to the latest information, new product display panels for Business Profiles are being tested together with a small number of brands in the US. The creators will be able to display additional business information above the tweet feed.

Interest in Online Shopping Arises

In July, there was a launch of the Twitter Shop module, which allows users to scroll through a carousel of product images in the module and tap on a product they’re interested in purchasing. This option opens up the website inside the Twitter app itself. Such updates are built for maximizing monetization and usage potential, so the transition to eCommerce will take a certain time.

While waiting for the next major update, we can speculate if the shopping feature will work specifically for Twitter. How will this affect the further development of the app? In any case, interest in online shopping continues to grow due to the COVID lockdown, so this step can be assumed to be successful. What do you think about this future update?
