WhatsApp Premium Only Brings Two Features to the Subscribers Image

What did you expect from WhatsApp Premium? A sort of Telegram Premium adjusted for WhatsApp? Or something business-oriented? The latter looks more probable as you look at the feature revealed in the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android. But the number of the new features that the subscription gives looks too low… by now.

Well, the guess is right: WhatsApp Premium is for business. And the first feature provided under the subscription is the ability to choose a short and legible link that you can share with your partners or customers. They will be able to add you to their contacts by the link looking like https://wa.me/yourbusinessname, which is easier to integrate into your website or social media pages.

If you need to change your name after it’s registered, you can do it, but only once every three months. Well, hardly will an established business have to change the name more frequently, unless you abandon it or change the direction completely. Still, the earliest birds will get all the best names, and those late for dinner will have to invent something original when most common names are already used.

The second ability is even more business-focused. Subscribers will be able to use the same account on up to 10 devices. This will enable managers to communicate with more customers simultaneously, which is certainly not the feature for a regular user. If you use WhatsApp as a channel for ecommerce, though, this ability may be crucial.

All you need to try these Premium features now is the latest compatible version of WhatsApp Beta. It can be installed from either Google Play or TestFlight if you’re on iOS. For some users, it’s already available; most, though, will have to wait for further updates even if they are already on the latest 2.22.22.11 (for Android) or 22.21.0.72 (for iOS).

What do you think about these Premium features? Do you think they will be really this useful for businesses? What other features would you like to see in Premium? Share your ideas and expectations with us in the comments!
