Will We See Sims 5 in 2022?

Over the years, the Sims franchise has turned into a cultural phenomenon with so many people creating characters and living out virtual lives for them. The latest edition in the series, The Sims 4, was originally released in 2014. Since then, the game received numerous game packs and expansions. What is more, a lot of players are interested in modding, which only adds content to the game. At the same time, the questions remain — will The Sims 5 become available this year, and do we need it right now?

At the beginning of December 2021, The Sims 4 received the latest addition, which was the Modern Menswear Kit. The developers clearly haven’t forgotten about their game and continue adding new content to keep things interesting. In July, we had the latest big addition to the game, which was the Cottage Living Expansion Pack. While the expansions are not included in the game every month, they certainly appear often enough to keep players coming back to The Sims 4.

If we look at how much content appears now compared to the previous years, it’s obvious that things have slowed down a bit. The pandemic has definitely affected the development process of the game, so this only makes sense. At the moment, EA and Maxis don’t share any information on The Sims 5 and whether the transition to the new game will happen in 2022. All we could do at the moment is guess and speculate. At the moment, a lot of players still seem to enjoy The Sims 4. This is something we can see from the ‘Year in Gaming’ statistics provided by the team of the franchise. It means that maybe there is no need for the game to arrive this year and it can wait until 2023.
