Another feature from YouTube's desktop version has been added to the Android app

YouTube is currently the most popular video streaming platform. And almost everyone these days goes to YouTube for one thing or another, and as the number of YouTube videos continues to increase, so does the length of some of these videos. These days, the average YouTube video is above the 30-minute mark. They range from podcasts to tutorials, video essays, news broadcasts, and so much more.
With some of these videos having a run time of more than 4 hours, it is easy to get lost trying to find a specific topic that is part of a video you need. And this is where video transcripts come in. Transcription makes it easier for you to search for the part of a video you need. This feature was previously only available on the desktop version of YouTube, but it seems it will be coming to mobile devices soon.
With this new feature, you don’t need to sit at your laptop trying to go through a script. You can access the transcripts for a video by simply clicking on the button provided beneath the screen tagged "show transcript." The whole setup is similar to the one on the desktop but has been modified to fit the mobile UI.
You can now easily scroll through a full transcript on your phone as you watch a video, or use the transcripts to access a timecode directly. While it may look similar to the desktop version, there are some changes. For example, you will not be able to search through lines directly, but that will probably be fixed in the next update.
And speaking of updates, it seems the transcripts will be made available via a server-side update. For the moment, this basically means that everyone will not be able to access the new feature. Still, give it a try. You might be one of the few who already have access.
Have you been able to access this new transcription feature on your YouTube account? Please share your thoughts and impressions with us in the comment section below.
