YouTube Reveals Plans for Developing Important Aspects of the Platform

YouTube is one of the world's largest streaming platforms, and with all of the changes happening on the World Wide Web right now, you may be wondering what the future holds for the streaming giant. Mr. Neal Mohan, YouTube's Chief Product Officer, gave a summary describing his key emphasis in 2022 as well as the areas he feels have the most promise, which includes new avenues to support artists, improved live shopping, integration into the Metaverse and the NFT sector, and much more.
YouTube is also exploring new ways to monetize Shorts and increase visibility for its creator marketplace (BrandConnect). YouTube also plans to expand its Super Chat feature to Short clips and provide shopping possibilities with the Shorts format. TikTok is likewise attempting to integrate additional shopping capabilities into its platform in a similar manner.
Mr. Mohan also indicated that NFTs may be integrated into the platform to provide creators with greater revenue potential. He also hinted at intentions to incorporate YouTube into the Metaverse.
He also stated that the number of users who watch YouTube on their TVs is growing. By January 2022, the platform had accumulated an average of 700 million hours of viewing, primarily on tv. Mr. Mohammed further disclosed that viewers would be able to use their phones to share videos, read and give comments, and so on.
With YouTube beginning to focus on the integration of YouTube TV, advertisers will have a plethora of chances to boost engagement. We'll be looking to see how YouTube exploits its advantage of having stronger revenue choices to remain ahead of its new rival, TikTok.
