YouTube Will Soon Have A 'Channel Store' Dedicated To Buying Subscriptions For Streaming Services Image

The Wall Street Journal reports that YouTube is developing an online store where it will be possible to purchase subscriptions to streaming services. The same source reports that the company has been working on this project for about 18 months and at this stage it approves the list of partners that will be presented on the service. YouTube provides its streaming TV subscribers with access to HBO Max and other additional services for $65 a month. Meanwhile, the potential project obviously involves even more convenient functionality and service for buying subscriptions.

The new platform on YouTube is likely to be presented as a profitable promotional vehicle for streaming services, and the marketing strategy will include the ability to watch trailers for free so that users are more interested in buying. Of course, this decision is another source of income for YouTube, since the company will take a certain share of the income of all participating services. Despite this fact, such cooperation will definitely be mutually beneficial, since the number of additional buyers that the media giant will be able to attract will definitely be worth the percentage that YouTube will charge companies for the right to place on its service.

Jeffrey Hirsch, Starz chief executive, believes that this collaboration will create a product that best meets the needs of users. Also, this solution will increase the reach of users who will see the offer, and therefore sales will definitely increase. And YouTube, in addition to its main functions, will become a place where you can manage your subscriptions.
